Before I take a single photograph, I immerse myself in your story.
I approach families much the same way I approached the news stories of my photojournalism career: deeply interested, observant, curious, gently uncovering what’s underneath, hidden, forgotten.

I listen, question, observe. I bring my skills as a journalist and a storyteller. I bring everything but judgment. Because I’ve seen enough to know there is no typical, nothing is perfect, and there is beauty to be found in every single thing.
You’ll get guidance, inspiration, useful tips and information—everything you need to prepare for the day, without preparing too much. (At last, a day for which under-preparation is a gift.)

Your experience will be one of a kind.
No one knows exactly what will happen.
We’ll most likely have the session at your home, where everyone is most themselves, or at a beautiful spot of your choosing.
On the day of your session, even the process of relaxing will feel relaxed.
Your session will take as long as it needs to take—usually about an hour. (I have an uncanny ability to put people at ease—and when you feel relaxed, it doesn’t take long for me to get what you’ll love.)
{: : your viewing and ordering session}
After your portrait experience, we’ll schedule your private viewing at my studio nestled in the woods of Belchertown. This is when you’ll choose the images you’d like to keep forever, and the ones you’ll let go of. We’ll talk about which walls we’ll make come alive with your images, so when you walk into a room, you can feel it hugging you back.
You’ll have what may be your first clear view of the way you truly are. Aren’t you curious?

Together, we’ll talk about which images make your heart sing so much, you must see them everyday. We’ll discover the perfect room, the best combination of images, and the right size for the wall where they’ll live. In 4-6 weeks, your images could be framed and ready to be displayed in your favorite rooms.
The images will become more than just beautiful photographs of the ones you love; they will be portals to the feelings you want to be surrounded by. They will set the tone for the room, and invite everyone who enters to not just see, but feel the heart of your family. You. Your love. Your life.
